This policy explains what information catbuyerguide.com (“Cat Buyer Guide”, “we”) collects when you visit the site or contact us, and what we do with it. It’s short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Cat Buyer Guide is operated by PPC Optimizer Pro LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. PPC Optimizer Pro LLC is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at the email address on our contact page.
What we collect
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server automatically records basic details of each request: your IP address, your browser and device type (the user agent), the page you asked for, the page that linked to it, and the date and time. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, for example to block abusive traffic and fix errors. We also count them in aggregate, such as how often each page is read and what kind of site sent the visit (a search engine, social media or another site), to learn which guides are useful. These counts contain no IP addresses, and no IP address is kept in our reports. The logs are rotated weekly and deleted automatically after about five weeks.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply, and keep it only as long as the conversation needs. Our email is hosted by Google (Gmail), which processes messages on our behalf.
What we don’t collect
- We have no user accounts, comments or newsletter.
- We don’t run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. If that changes, we’ll update this page first.
- We don’t set cookies for visitors. WordPress sets cookies only when a site administrator logs in.
- Our fonts are served from our own server, so loading a page doesn’t send your data to a font service, and we don’t embed videos, maps or social media widgets.
Links to other sites
Our guides link to the sources they cite, such as veterinary organizations and government agencies. When you follow a link, the other site’s privacy policy applies.
Affiliate links, including Amazon
Some guides contain affiliate links, including links to Amazon.com as part of the Amazon Associates program (see our affiliate disclosure). These are plain links: our pages don’t load images, prices or scripts from Amazon or any other seller, so viewing a page shares nothing with them. When you click an affiliate link and visit the seller’s site, that seller (for example Amazon) may set cookies to record that you came from Cat Buyer Guide and whether you bought something. Their privacy policies, such as Amazon’s Privacy Notice, apply to anything you do on their sites.
Why we use this information
We process server logs because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available and in knowing which pages are read, and we process emails so that we can reply to you.
Sharing
We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information. The site runs on a server we manage at a cloud hosting provider, which stores the data described above on our behalf. We’d disclose information to anyone else only if the law required it.
Security
The whole site is served over HTTPS, and access to the server is restricted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK or the CCPA in California, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, use the email address on our contact page. We’ll reply within 30 days.
Children
Cat Buyer Guide is written for adults and isn’t directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
